How can I describe a leak without assuming it comes from the AC?
Report the first place you saw water, whether cooling was operating and whether rainfall or plumbing use coincided with it. AC condensate, melting ice and another building leak remain different possibilities until the source is inspected.
Stop cooling when the unit is leaking
If water is escaping from the AC or collecting around it, turn cooling off using a dry, accessible thermostat. Keep away from wet plugs, wiring and switches. If you cannot tell whether the area is safe, do not enter it for a closer look.
Do not restart the system to make a leak reappear. Keeping a brief record does not require deliberately adding more water to the building.
Track where and when water appeared
A photo taken safely can show whether the first wetness was below the cabinet, at a pipe, on a wall or above the ceiling. Note whether the patch grew while cooling was off. Do not cut drywall or open the cabinet to follow its path.
If rain began at the same time, record that fact without concluding the roof is responsible. If a nearby appliance or plumbing fixture was being used, include it too. Coincidence helps plan the inspection but is not proof of origin.
Use the correct Golden Gate location
The County plan separates Golden Gate City from both Urban and Rural Estates. Give the full street address and identify the room or shared space containing the wet area. That prevents a general area name from standing in for the actual property.
If moisture crosses into another unit or common space, notify the responsible manager. Access to one home does not authorize inspection inside another.
Avoid treating every puddle as a drain clog
A backed-up condensate line, a failed collection pan and thawing ice can require different work. Ask which source was found and how it was distinguished from other water entering the area. Clearing a drain does not show that every nearby stain came from it.
Plumbing repair, roof repair, structural drying and mold work are outside this AC repair inquiry. If the source is elsewhere, the next trade should follow the finding rather than the closest visible appliance.
Questions about this repair
Can clear water still need urgent attention?
Yes. Appearance does not show whether it is reaching electrical parts or materials inside walls or floors. Focus on location and active spread.
Should I collect a water sample to identify the leak?
A sample is not needed for the initial AC request. Safe photographs and the location/timing history are more useful.
